First of all, this heat press features magnetic automatic-opening. The upper heating platen will open automatically when the timer ends, and it will sound an alarm at the same time. This prevents over-exposure and scorching of your substrate, and allows you to focus on other things of your project while the item is being pressed.
As a versatile heat press for efficient work, this heat press can switch between dual and single station configurations just by the dual platen tool, depending on your space and needs. When you switch it to the dual station mode, you can simultaneously be prepping a shirt, weeding a design, or curing a finished printed shirt, while another garment is being heat pressed. Therefore, the dual station design would improve the efficiency of your work by reducing waiting time for a complete pressing cycle.
Furthermore, this heat press also features interchangeable threadable and kit platens. With the threadable platen, you can thread your apparel item on the heat press platen for perfect press. It is useful, especially when you have a garment that does not lay flat on the platen, or if you want to heat press a specific part of the garment. The optional kit platen 5 pack, however, includes baby clothes platen, sleeve platen, shoe platen, stocking platen and label platen for pressing different items (which is available separately). The interchangeable lower platens allow you to take on different heat transfer projects, and you can change them easily without tools.
This heat press is ideal for garments like T-shirts, sweaters, as well as thin flat substrates like flat boards and photo panels. The clamshell style allows it to fit and operate in workspaces with limited space.
